Our plan · 2026–2027

A careful start, built to last

This is what SEEDbridge will do over the next fifteen months. We are beginning with a small number of schools in Tenkasi district so that every student we support gets real, lasting help. Each phase builds the trust and the systems we need for the next.

Phase 1

Foundations

Oct – Dec 2026 Starting now

Before we work with a single student, we want the right structures in place: legal registration, sound financial controls, clear policies and a committed group of volunteers.

Registration and compliance

  • Complete trust registration
  • Apply for 12A and 80G status
  • Open the trust bank account
  • Set up bookkeeping and an annual audit

Governance and policies

  • Regular meetings of the board of trustees
  • Child safeguarding policy
  • Finance, conflict of interest and data privacy policies
  • Volunteer code of conduct

People and partners

  • Bring together our first volunteers and mentors
  • Meet headmasters of government schools in Tenkasi district
  • Introduce our work to local education officials

Telling our story

  • Launch our website and social media pages
  • Open volunteer and student referral forms
  • Reach out to early supporters and well-wishers

Phase 2

First outreach

Jan – Jun 2027 Planned

Our first direct support to students. We will work with partner schools to identify the children who need help most, and make sure they start the new academic year ready to learn.

Identifying students

  • Agree fair selection criteria with teachers
  • Home visits where they help us understand needs
  • Keep every student's information private and secure

School essentials

  • Uniforms and everyday clothing
  • Footwear
  • School bags, notebooks and stationery
  • Delivered before schools reopen in June 2027

Nutrition support

  • Identify students who need it, with the school
  • Start with a simple model we can sustain
  • Review what works after the first term

Support for families

  • Awareness sessions on state and central scholarships
  • Information on welfare schemes families may qualify for
  • Help with applications and documents
By June 2027Every student we select begins the 2027–28 school year with the essentials they need.
Phase 3

Guidance and growth

Jul – Dec 2027 Planned

With the basics in place, we add the guidance that helps students look further ahead: mentors, career advice and practical skills. We also account openly for our first year.

Mentoring

  • Pair students in classes 9 to 12 with trained volunteer mentors
  • Regular check-ins, in person or online
  • Support through board exam preparation

Career guidance

  • Career awareness sessions in partner schools
  • College and course guidance for class 12 students
  • Help with scholarship and admission applications

Skills

  • Basic digital literacy sessions
  • Spoken English and communication practice
  • Explore partnerships with local training institutes

Accountability

  • Follow up on the attendance and progress of every student
  • Publish our first annual report with audited accounts
  • Open public donations once 12A and 80G are approved

We will report on these in our annual report, so supporters can see what their help makes possible.

  • Staying in school

    Attendance, and whether each student continues to the next class.

  • Completing school

    Class 10 and class 12 completion among the students we support.

  • Next steps

    Moving into college, vocational training or stable work.

  • Family access

    Scholarships and government schemes that families successfully claim.

Beyond 2027

Where we hope to go next

Once our first programmes are running well, we plan to grow in step with what we learn. We will stay focused on India, and on doing fewer things well rather than many things thinly.
